When to use it

Exam and recruitment portals

Many application systems cap photos at 50KB. Upload once and get a compliant JPG in seconds.

Scanned documents

Shrink phone photos of certificates or IDs so they fit document upload fields.

Several photos at once

Process up to 20 photos with the same 50KB limit and download them together as a ZIP.

What to expect

The target is preset to 50 KB (50,000 bytes). The tool lowers JPG quality first and then reduces dimensions only when needed; choose Keep dimensions to preserve the pixel size. A result is complete only when its real size fits.

Limits apply to both input and output. Animated images are not supported. Files remain in memory only; reloads clear your work. Smaller batches help on mobile devices.

Frequently asked questions

How do I reduce a photo to under 50KB?

Add your photo; the 50 KB target is already set. JPG quality is lowered step by step and, if needed, the dimensions are reduced until the file is at most 50,000 bytes.

Will my photo still be readable at 50KB?

For portraits and documents up to about 1200 px wide, 50KB usually keeps faces and text clear. Very large or detailed photos are scaled down to fit, so check the preview before uploading.

The form also requires a minimum size. What should I do?

Choose Keep dimensions. Only the quality is lowered, so the pixel size stays the same. If the limit still cannot be met, resize to the required size first and try again.

Can I choose a different limit on this page?

Yes. Type any limit from 10 to 10,000 KB or pick a preset such as 20 KB or 100 KB.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Image processing takes place in your browser. Files are not sent to Codia and are removed from this workspace when you refresh or leave. Website analytics, when permitted, never contain your images or file names.

Can I process multiple files?

Yes, up to 20 files per batch, within the displayed size limits. Each file is processed separately. Download successful results individually or as a ZIP; a failed file does not block the others.

Will quality and metadata stay the same?

Results depend on the operation and settings. Lossy compression changes pixels; JPG removes transparency. Exports target ordinary 8-bit web images and do not promise EXIF, HDR, original color profiles or 16-bit preservation. Always inspect the result.
