How it works
Choose files from your device, drag them here, or paste an image.
Adjust the available settings and inspect your results before downloading.
Download the result or copy your colors. No account or payment is required.
When to use it
Editing in older apps
Some image editors, office apps and print services still cannot open WebP. PNG works almost everywhere.
Images saved from websites
Many sites deliver images as WebP. Convert them to PNG before adding them to documents or slides.
Lossless working copies
PNG keeps every decoded pixel and the alpha channel, ready for further editing.
What to expect
PNG keeps the transparency present in a static WebP image and works in many design and publishing workflows. Converting formats cannot recover detail already lost in WebP compression. PNG output can be larger than the input. Animated WebP is rejected rather than silently losing frames.
Limits apply to both input and output. Animated images are not supported. Files remain in memory only; reloads clear your work. Smaller batches help on mobile devices.

Frequently asked questions
Why is the PNG larger than the WebP?
WebP uses more efficient compression, while PNG is lossless, so the same image usually needs more bytes. Run the result through the PNG Compressor if file size matters.
Is transparency kept when converting?
Yes. Transparent and semi-transparent pixels are carried over to the PNG unchanged.
Can I convert animated WebP files?
Not yet. Animated WebP files are detected and rejected, so you never get an unexpected single-frame result.
Does converting to PNG improve quality?
No. Conversion keeps the pixels exactly as they are decoded from the WebP; it cannot restore detail that was lost when the WebP was created.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Image processing takes place in your browser. Files are not sent to Codia and are removed from this workspace when you refresh or leave. Website analytics, when permitted, never contain your images or file names.
Can I process multiple files?
Yes, up to 20 files per batch, within the displayed size limits. Each file is processed separately. Download successful results individually or as a ZIP; a failed file does not block the others.
Will quality and metadata stay the same?
Results depend on the operation and settings. Lossy compression changes pixels; JPG removes transparency. Exports target ordinary 8-bit web images and do not promise EXIF, HDR, original color profiles or 16-bit preservation. Always inspect the result.
