Codia

Refund Policy

This Refund Policy is part of the agreement between you and Codia Tech, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company with its registered address at 1111B S Governors Ave STE 21043, Dover, DE 19904, United States ("Codia," "we," "us"). It should be read together with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

If you are a consumer resident in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, South Korea, Taiwan, Brazil, Singapore, Hong Kong SAR, Japan, or a US state with specific auto-renewal or stored-value rules (e.g., California), sections 9–16 below describe mandatory statutory rights that apply to you in addition to (and, where inconsistent, in place of) the general rules.

1. Free trial credits

Codia offers free credits to all new users to try out our services before making any purchase. We strongly encourage you to use this trial period to evaluate whether the Services meet your needs before subscribing or buying a credit pack.

2. General rule: purchases are final

Except where otherwise required by law or expressly provided in this policy, all purchases are final and non-refundable once the payment has been successfully processed. This includes:

  • Subscription plans (monthly or annual)
  • One-time credit purchases (stored-value "credit packs")
  • Add-ons and any other paid feature

Cancellation is not the same as a refund. Cancelling a subscription stops future billing but does not refund amounts already charged for the current or prior billing periods, unless a statutory right in sections 9–16 applies.

3. Subscription auto-renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle at the then-current rate. You may cancel from your account settings at any time before the next billing date; cancellation takes effect at the end of the then-current billing period and you retain access until that date.

Annual plans. Once an annual billing cycle has started, the annual fee is not refundable on a pro-rata basis unless a statutory right in sections 9–16 applies. We will send a renewal reminder before each annual renewal and disclose any material price change at least 30 days in advance.

4. Credit packs and unused balances

  • Credits do not expire while your account is active and in good standing.
  • Free credits are consumed first before any paid credits from a given purchase.
  • Refunds of unused paid credits are not available except where a statutory right applies (see California below) or where we have approved a refund under Section 5.
  • On account closure, any remaining paid credit balance may be refunded on written request, less chargeback or fraud-related amounts; free credits have no cash value.

5. Discretionary exceptions

Beyond the statutory rights in sections 9–16, we may, in our discretion, issue a full or partial refund in these situations:

  • Technical issues on our side that prevented you from using the Service at all
  • Duplicate or erroneous charges caused by a platform error
  • Extended unplanned downtime attributable to us during a paid period

These exceptions are discretionary; a statutory right always overrides them where it applies.

6. How to request a refund

Email [email protected] with:

  • Your order or transaction ID
  • A short description of the issue
  • Your country of residence (so we can apply the right statutory framework)
  • Supporting screenshots or documentation where relevant

For enterprise customers on a signed order form, refund requests should be routed to [email protected] and will be handled per the master agreement.

We will acknowledge your request within 5 business days. Where the EU / UK / Korea / Taiwan / Brazil statutory right of withdrawal applies, we will complete the refund within the statutory deadline (14 calendar days for EEA/UK/CH; 3 business days for Korea; and the applicable statutory period for other jurisdictions), regardless of the acknowledgement window.

7. Refund processing, currency, and fees

  • Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method. Your bank or card issuer may take 5–10 additional business days to post the refund.
  • Refunds are issued in the original currency charged. Where your bank converted the charge into a local currency, foreign-exchange differences between the original charge date and the refund date are determined by your bank or card network and are not borne by Codia.
  • We do not deduct payment-processor fees (e.g., Stripe fees) from your refund; the full amount you paid is returned. Bank-side fees (if any) are your bank's responsibility.

8. Chargebacks

If you believe there is a billing error, contact [email protected] first. Filing a chargeback with your bank or card issuer before contacting us — particularly for services you have actively used — may be treated as a breach of our Terms of Service. During the chargeback dispute, we may suspend the affected account to prevent further accrual of disputed usage. We will not retaliate against good-faith chargebacks arising from genuine unauthorized use or fraud.

9. EU / EEA / UK / Switzerland consumers — 14-day right of withdrawal

If you are a consumer resident in the European Economic Area (EU + Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway), the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you have a legal right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days, without giving any reason, under EU Directive 2011/83/EU, the UK Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, and the Swiss Code of Obligations as applicable.

Digital-content waiver. The Services are digital content delivered immediately. When you purchase a subscription or credit pack, we will ask you to (a) expressly request that performance begin before the 14-day period ends, and (b) expressly acknowledge that doing so causes you to lose your right of withdrawal once performance has begun. If you give both consents and performance has begun, you cannot withdraw from the contract, except for parts of the Services that have not yet been supplied.

How to withdraw. Send an unambiguous statement to [email protected] within 14 days of the contract conclusion. You may use the model withdrawal form in Annex I of Directive 2011/83/EU. We will refund all payments received within 14 calendar days of receiving your notice, using the same payment method, with no fees.

10. South Korea consumers (전자상거래법)

If you are a consumer resident in the Republic of Korea, Article 17 of the Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce gives you the right to withdraw within 7 days from the date of purchase or the date you received the content, whichever is later. For digital content this right is limited under Article 17(2)(5), but you may still withdraw within 7 days if you have not received or begun using the content.

We will refund within 3 business days of accepting a valid withdrawal request, as required by Article 18.

For disputes, you may contact the Korea Consumer Agency (1372), the E-commerce Dispute Mediation Committee, the Personal Information Dispute Mediation Committee (1833-6972), or the Seoul Central District Court. Our full statutory business information is published at /docs/kr-business-info.

11. Taiwan consumers (消費者保護法)

If you are a consumer resident in Taiwan, Article 19 of the Consumer Protection Act provides a 7-day reconsideration period for distance-selling contracts. For digital content delivered immediately, the reconsideration period may be shortened where permitted by the "通訊交易解除權合理例外情事適用準則" (Regulations on reasonable exceptions to the right of rescission in distance-selling). Contact [email protected] if you believe this right applies.

Consumer disputes may also be raised with the Consumer Protection Committee of the Executive Yuan, a local Consumer Protection Officer, or the competent District Court.

12. Brazil consumers (CDC)

If you are a consumer resident in Brazil, you have a right of arrependimento within 7 days of purchase under Article 49 of the Código de Defesa do Consumidor (Law 8.078/1990). Email [email protected] to exercise this right. We will refund the amount paid, monetarily adjusted if applicable.

Nothing in this policy limits rights that are non-waivable under the CDC, the LGPD (Law 13.709/2018), the Marco Civil da Internet (Law 12.965/2014), or other Brazilian consumer-protection law. Any provision that would be null under CDC Article 51 has no effect against you.

13. Japan consumers (特定商取引法 / 消費者契約法)

Japan's Act on Specified Commercial Transactions does not grant a general cooling-off period for online digital services. However, we will issue a refund where the Japan Consumer Contract Act (消費者契約法), the Civil Code, or other mandatory Japanese law requires it — for example, for material misrepresentation or significant service defects. Our statutory commercial disclosure for Japan is at /docs/jp-tokusho. Disputes may be referred to a certified Alternative Dispute Resolution body, the National Consumer Affairs Center (188), or the competent Japanese court.

14. Singapore consumers (Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act)

Singapore's Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act does not mandate a cooling-off period for online digital services. However, the Lemon Law provisions for digital products (Part III) entitle you to repair, replacement, refund or a price reduction where the Services do not conform to a reasonable description within six months of delivery. Unfair contract terms under the Unfair Contract Terms Act are likewise void. Contact [email protected].

15. Hong Kong SAR consumers (Sale of Goods Ordinance; Supply of Services (Implied Terms) Ordinance)

Hong Kong does not mandate a cooling-off period for online digital services. You remain entitled to the statutory implied terms under the Supply of Services (Implied Terms) Ordinance (Cap. 457) — including that services will be supplied with reasonable care and skill — and to rights under the Sale of Goods Ordinance (Cap. 26) where applicable to digital goods. Contact [email protected]; unresolved disputes may be referred to the Consumer Council.

16. California and other US state-specific rights

California auto-renewal (Business & Professions Code §§17600–17606). California residents may cancel at any time online with no phone call or email required. For annual plans, we will send a renewal reminder between 15 and 45 days before renewal and disclose any material price change at least 7 days before it takes effect.

California stored-value (Civil Code §1749.5(b)(2)). If the unused paid-credit balance associated with your account falls below $10 and was purchased by a California resident, you may request a cash refund of that balance by emailing [email protected].

Other US states. Residents of Colorado, Connecticut, Montana, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Iowa, Tennessee, and other states with consumer privacy or auto-renewal laws have comparable rights under applicable state law. Use the same channel.

17. General statement of mandatory rights

Nothing in this Refund Policy limits any statutory right that you have as a consumer under the mandatory law of your country or state of residence. Where this policy and local mandatory law conflict, the more protective rule applies to you, and only to the extent of the conflict.
