How it works

  1. 1

    Upload your photo

  2. 2

    Mark what to remove

Paint over the object with the brush, or use Quick Select and click an outlined object. To clear bystanders, switch to Passersby mode.

  3. 3

    Erase and download

Run Magic Eraser, compare the result with the original, and export when the background looks right.

What people use it for

Travel photos

Remove tourists, photobombers and parked cars from landmarks and beaches so the view is the subject again.

Real estate and interiors

Clear cables, clutter and personal items from room photos before they go on a listing.

Product photos

Take out stray props, stickers and dust spots so shoppers see only the product.

Landscapes

Erase power lines, poles, signs and litter that pull attention away from the scenery.

Events and portraits

Remove exit signs, microphone stands and people in the background of group shots and candid photos.

Social media posts

Clean up a busy background before you crop, add text and share.

Three ways to choose what goes

Brush gives you full control: paint over anything, from a small blemish on a wall to a whole person. Quick Select outlines the objects in your photo so you can remove one with a click, then refine the edge with the brush. Passersby mode removes bystanders in one click, without any selection at all.

A background that looks untouched

Magic Eraser does more than blur the area. The AI rebuilds what would have been behind the object, continuing grass, sand, sky, walls and patterns so the edit blends in. You can pick from several AI models in the panel and try another one if a result is not quite right.

Tips for a cleaner result

Paint slightly past the edge of the object and include its shadow or reflection, otherwise a faint outline can remain. Remove large objects one at a time, and compare with the original before you export. Busy foregrounds are harder to rebuild than simple backgrounds such as sky, water or plain walls.

What it costs

Opening your photo and painting a selection with the brush are free. Erasing, and object recognition in Quick Select, run on Codia AI and use credits from your Codia account; the panel shows the cost before you start. Crop, adjust, text and the other basic tools in the editor stay free.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about pricing, privacy and how the editor works. You can also try the free tools first and decide later.

How do I remove an object from a photo?

Upload the photo on this page, paint over the object with the brush or click it with Quick Select, then run Magic Eraser. The AI fills in the area with background that matches the rest of the picture.

Can I remove a person from a photo?

Yes. Paint over the person to remove one specific figure, or switch to Passersby mode to clear bystanders from the background in one click.

What if the result is not perfect?

Undo, widen the selection a little so it covers shadows and edges, and run it again. You can also switch to a different AI model in the panel, which often handles tricky backgrounds differently.

Can it remove text, logos or watermarks?

Magic Eraser has a Watermark mode for text, logos and marks. Only use it on images you own or have permission to edit.

Is the object remover free?

Uploading, brushing over areas and the editor's basic tools are free. Erasing, and object recognition in Quick Select, use credits from your Codia account, so you will be asked to sign in before the first one.

Are my photos uploaded?

Not when you open them. Photos pass from this page to the editor inside your browser, and free tools process them on your device. A photo is uploaded only when you run an AI tool on it or save the project to your Codia account.

Do I need an account?

No account is needed to open photos and use the free tools. You will be asked to sign in when you run an AI tool or want to keep projects in your account.
