NoteSlide
Overview
NoteSlide is Codia's AI slide conversion workspace. It turns NotebookLM PDFs, image-based slide decks, and static presentation visuals into editable PowerPoint-style files using Codia AI Vision.
The product is built for a specific problem: AI tools and document tools can create PDFs quickly, but those PDFs are hard to revise. NoteSlide recovers text, images, shapes, layout, and visual hierarchy so the result can be edited instead of manually rebuilt.
Use NoteSlide when you need to:
- Convert NotebookLM generated PDFs into editable PPTX
- Convert image slides, screenshots, or scanned slide PDFs into editable decks
- Recover editable slides from flattened presentation exports
- Review, edit, present, share, or export decks after conversion
- Support enterprise or government procurement workflows that require editable presentation formats
Where To Open It
Supported Inputs
NoteSlide supports:
- NotebookLM generated PDF files
- General PDF slide exports
- Image-based PDFs and scanned slide documents
- Multiple image files such as JPG and PNG
- Single slide images for fast editing
When you upload a PDF, NoteSlide converts pages into slide images for preview and selection. When you upload multiple images, each image becomes a slide candidate. A single image can go directly into the editor flow.
Output Formats
From the editor, NoteSlide can export:
- PPTX
- Slide images as a ZIP package
PPTX is the primary output for editable presentation workflows. PDF and image exports are useful for review, sharing, and fallback delivery.
NotebookLM To PPTX Workflow
- In NotebookLM, create a notebook and add sources such as PDFs, links, or documents.
- In NotebookLM's Studio panel, generate a Slide Deck.
- Download the generated deck as a PDF.
- Open NoteSlide and upload the PDF.
- Preview the pages and select the slides you want to convert.
- Click Convert to Editable PPTX.
- Wait for conversion to finish.
- Edit the deck in NoteSlide if needed.
- Export PPTX from the top-right export menu.
Each selected slide consumes credits. Select only the pages you need when testing or converting a large file.
Editor Workflow
After conversion, NoteSlide opens an editor with a slide list, editable canvas, save status, and export controls.
You can:
- Navigate slides with the sidebar or arrow keys
- Select, move, resize, rotate, and delete editable elements
- Edit text styling such as font, size, weight, alignment, underline, italic, and color
- Add new text
- Upload or replace images
- Add placeholder slides
- Use undo, redo, delete, escape, and common text shortcuts
- Present the deck in a presentation view
- Share a view-only link
- Save changes back to the task record
Converted slides are represented as editable design structure, not just flattened screenshots. Some complex charts or visual effects may still be preserved as images when that gives better visual fidelity.
AI Slide And Image Tools
NoteSlide includes extra AI tools inside the editor:
- Generate a new slide from a prompt
- Upscale an image
- Remove image background
- Replace or insert slide images
- Convert selected or incomplete slides again when needed
The generated-slide popover is useful for adding a new page to an existing deck without leaving the editor.
Library And Task Management
The NoteSlide library stores recent tasks. From the library you can:
- Reopen previous decks
- Rename a task
- Delete a presentation
- Open a task in a new tab
- Load more historical tasks
Shared decks can open in view-only mode when the viewer is not the owner. Editing is reserved for the owner account.
Conversion Statuses
Slides can move through several states:
- Waiting: queued for conversion
- Converting: AI Vision is processing the slide
- Editable: conversion succeeded and the slide can be edited
- Locked: conversion requires payment or plan access
- Interrupted: conversion was paused or loaded from an incomplete record
- Error: conversion failed and can be retried
If only some slides fail, convert the incomplete slides again instead of restarting the entire deck.

Procurement Workflow
Enterprise procurement can follow a structured process:

- Confirm the amount and request a quotation if needed.
- Pay by bank transfer.
- Receive an electronic PDF invoice.
- Submit user account email addresses for provisioning.

The process can be adapted to internal accounting rules, government entity names, institutional contracts, fiscal-year budgeting, procurement portals, and required document formats.
Security And Data Handling
NoteSlide is designed around secure document processing:
- Documents are transferred with TLS.
- Enterprise materials can be handled with encryption at rest.
- Uploaded documents are not resold or shared.
- Uploaded content is not used for model training.
- Access can be centralized through SSO for enterprise deployments.
For broader service policies, see Privacy Policy, Terms, and DPA.
API Workflow
For programmatic PDF-to-PPT conversion, use the API Reference. The public API uses the unified Task API with operation=pdf_to_ppt, and PDF-to-PPT uses the unified Codia Open API balance.
Use the API when you need automated batch conversion or integration with an internal document system. Use the web app when you need interactive review and editing.
Best Practices
- Use original PDFs when available instead of screenshots.
- Select only the slides you need before conversion.
- Split very large decks into smaller files.
- Review numbers, citations, names, and legal text after conversion.
- Keep the source file for comparison.
- Export PPTX for editing, PDF for review, and images for lightweight sharing.
- For enterprise rollout, define seat ownership, SSO requirements, invoice workflow, and retention expectations before onboarding.
Troubleshooting
Conversion is slow
Large PDFs and visually dense slides take longer. Split the source file, select fewer slides, or retry incomplete slides only.
Export is disabled
Export is disabled while slides are still converting. Wait until the conversion progress finishes.
Some content remains as an image
Complex charts, photos, screenshots, and heavily composited graphics may stay image-based to preserve visual fidelity.
Text is editable but line breaks differ
OCR and layout reconstruction can change line breaks, spacing, or font metrics. Review important slides manually before presenting.
A slide is locked
The slide may require plan access or credits. Upgrade or confirm the active NoteSlide plan, then retry conversion.
The deck opens as view-only
You may be viewing a shared deck or a deck owned by another account. Sign in as the owner to edit.
